Aaaaand just when I was wishing the world would stop for a week... I stop for a couple of days. Got quite sick on Saturday and pretty much spent the whole weekend + yesterday on my bed. Now I'm back to work, feeling like crap, but at least out of the feverish hallucinating cycle that resumed my weekend. I had so much to do on the weekend and now I won't have time for it until the next weekend.

I wish the world would stop for a week.

Time have been flowing ridiculously fast for me in the past few months, and I'm getting consistently busier with life. I'm having less time to dedicate to DA, and that is something that I want to fix in the near future. But before that, I gotta finish and close a lot of things, and stop indirectly bringing more and more work to my free time xD.

So yeah... I may not be around that frequently, but I'll try to contribute as much as I can with the little time I have.

On the bright side... I recently finished an Iphone/Android game at work that I dare say I'm proud of. Both because I like the final result, as well as because I enjoyed the process. Once it is finished, I'll show some of it here, maybe a bit of process? It's not a big project, but it was fun to do nonetheless.

Facts:

1- The biggest reason why I draw so many female characters is because I find them a lot easier to draw than males. The second reason being that I love to draw hair and fabric, and my chances of getting both in female characters (and not beeing called a bishie fantard) are higher.

2- I usually draw things that have way too many details, and I'm frequently plainly lazy to do the same character with the same outfit again.Ironically, I usually manage to work around it by drawing a different outfit with pretty much the same level of detail or higher every new piece. xD

3- I'm an architect and urbanist. And I currently don't plan to work with that. which leads me to the next topic:

4- Yes, I do work in a small game development company. It's tons of fun but it's pretty much like any other job: you have work to be done, deadlines, co-workers who may or may not be cooperative, you have clients and even though they're wrong most of the time, you have to make it right somehow. Because the customer is always right. I find myself every now and then having to unmistify my job to someone.

5- I admit my own lack of discipline and the mess that usually are my own process files, and yet people manage to deliver at my hands stuff that surpass any possible mess I"ve ever done. I consequently became a huge fan of layers, folders and all those things that make your process files a lot more intuitive to browse. Because someday someone will have to open your files and find that particular layer. So make their life easier and save them from browsing 100 layers called layer 73.

6- Thanks to Yorugatana, I've been learning a lot of DA way of formating things. And I reeeaaaaaallly suggest DA to implement a text editor. it's free. Seriously. you just have to find the proper code for your format in a free creative commons library, ctrlc+v to the proper place and voilà. no more freaking < xpto> gibberish </xpto >. Ever.

7- I'm sleeping around 5 to 6 hours every day of my own free will. It's less than ideal, but at least now I can keep up with DA, life, work, RPG, freelancer jobs and have I mentioned life? But it is extremely tiresome.

8- I've been unintentionally learning bits of music theory due to an Iphone/android app series that I've been working on in the past few months. I want to really learn how to play an instrument tho'.

9- If the world ends in icecream, I'll be the happiest creature on earth. Until we all die of hypothermia(is that word right? I'm too lazy to ask the oracle Google right now).

10- I've done so much at work that I wish I could post at DA. But at the same time I believe it doesn't fit in my gallery. My production there is completely different from my works here.

Update:

Uhm... Well... My life is still a big mess. I'm currently lacking the time and will to draw for myself. Guess this is the price for working with illustration: at the end of the day, the only thing I absolutely don't want to do is draw more. I must apologize for not beeing able to keep up with my promises, and if I own you something please post here so I can organize myself better. I gotta learn how to deal with it and go back to producing something, one step at a time.

I'll still check up here regularly from work, but I don't believe I"ll be posting anything anytime soon.


OH yeah. And happy new year, chinese year, valentines day and any other important thing that I might have missed.

Yep. My life is a mess right now, when the subject is time. I've been working until late so I'm way behind my schedule on all the things I have to do in everything besides work. But... Christmas break is coming soon, and although I'll be traveling a lot, I expect to get back on track after that.

I still check here regularly, so if you need to speak with me just drop a note or a message somewhere.
